The time has come…recruitment for the 2023-24 Mediocre Bowling Association season has commenced!
With the success of the 2022-23 Seasonal Tournaments - the people have spoken. They want bowling, they need bowling. Are MBA League officials brave enough, dare we say silly enough, to answer the call?
Of course we are silly enough.
A full, regular season of bowling returns, October 2023 and with it come the beloved sundries of MBA season’s past. Membership fees apply this time around - you must be in it to win it!
Membership fee is $50.00 USD (+ game fees per event) and includes:
2023-24 Membership Badge + Exclusive Access to all Events
No more cajoling players off the streets each month. Starting in October, events are strictly limited to official season members only. Clip that membership badge to your bowling bag, car mirror or display it proudly on your desk at work to let everyone know you belong in the gutter! Event Trophies
The regular season events have returned, so that means the hardware will too! Some of your favorite trophies (such as “The Big Lebrewski” and '“Munson Cup”) return, along with recent lauded additions (The Spring Seasonal Tournament trophy now joins the regular season trophy lineup as the spoils of “The Sweetness Open”).
Stat Tracking
Handicaps return to give even the most mediocre members of the league a chance to walk home with a win! Detailed stat tracking behind the scenes and posted leaderboards throughout the season will keep you in the know of who leads the league. These will, also, come in handy when you eventually make the jump to the PBA.
The Little Things in Life
One of the biggest requests during the Seasonal Tournaments, Gutter Trash Awards and Turkey Club Pins return! Stickers and other swag available throughout the season.
League Officials are excited to welcome you back for a full season of mediocre bowling. Great competition, terrible bowling - here we come.

The first regular season event of the MBA season, the Sweetness Open carries a prestige that no other event can touch.
Named in honor of Ernest McCracken's beloved bowling ball, "The Sweetness" brings forth feelings of renewed hope, low expectations, and the complete surrender of summer. Three games are played with the highest average winning the league’s newest trophy: Claudia’s Affection
The Knock ‘Em Back Masters

The second event of the season, the Knock'em Back Masters continue the players drive to climb their respective chapter's leaderboard. With only two games to play on this night, the room for error becomes marginal. The Masters doesn't have the same aura of snobbiness as the Sweetness Open, but the players desire to take home the coveted "Golden Colt" making this one of the league's grittier events.

Put aside some of your competitive spirit while you participate as a PAIR in the season's first team event! The Great Divide pairs the best player and the worst player, second best and second worst, etc. Each team's scores from the two games will be added and then averaged to determine the winning pair. You might hate the person that you have to play with, but for one December night you can channel some of the holiday spirit and use it to destroy everybody else.

Named for the Dude’s beloved drink of choice, The Caucasian Open is the second and final team event of the season.
Team captains, aka the top on the leaderboard, will choose teamates from different skill groups so the victory / blame can be shared evenly amongst the league. The team with the highest average after two games will have their names etched eternally onto “The White Russian”.
The T.D.K. Memorial

With the regular season coming to a close, the somber but competitive T.D.K Memorial Tournament gives members one last chance to cement their names into regular season glory. With team play in the rearview, this will be a player's last chance to gain advantageous postseason position or, at the very least, head into March on a hot / cold streak.
Three grueling games will keep everybody's eyes on the standings as they shift dramatically by tournaments end. In lieu of flowers, members can dress in black to pay their respects to our friend Donny, Rest in Pins.

The Munson Cup Chapter Championship

This is the event you've been waiting for! The top 7 players of the chapter as well as the Wild Card contender from the Honorable Munson Wild Card Round. The entire chapter will watch as the final 8 players, who will be seeded in a playoff bracket, battle it out through three games until one player is left standing. The prize? The Munson Cup, as well as the prestige that goes along with being the Chapter Champion!
*Most players will participate in 3 games with the exception of first round bracket players who do not move forward - those players will be refunded for any unplayed games.
